(SPOILERS) And then is Modern Warfare a prequel or just a completely new kickoff?

SPOILERS!!!

Just finished the game. Is this game a prequel or are they making a whole new story? In that location were a lot of familiar names listed at the end. Besides as story plot from CoD4.

yeah it seems similar a prequel similar shows how TF 141 started the end shows Al-Asad taking over the region which is where CoD4 (OG ModernWarfare). which is MW:Remastered starts and now they only announced MW2:Remastered my guess is its a prequel perhaps some small changes but mostly a prequel.

I was confused considering mw1 takes place in 2011 and mw2 and 3 accept place in 2016. But In mw 2019, if y'all look at the bottom left of the screen for the dates information technology says 2019. However price talks about forming task force 141 at the end. So my guess is is that's function reboot, part prequel.

I'1000 not as well far in the game, and a thought came to me. I was wondering if this is a prequel and what really fabricated me consider that is in MW3 at that place was a connexion with Price and Sandman so I was hoping that perchance this game is the mission Toll and Sandman did (along side MW2 character Ghost). I wish that would be the case.
